With the season of food and drink now well and truly upon us, you might be interested to read the emerging food & drink trends for 2019. Here’s a snap shot from the very latest research; courtesy of the International Food and Drink Event (IFE).

Plant-based food and veganism, the free-from movement and booze-free beverages have been identified as the top three trends which impacted food & drink businesses in 2018.

Plant-based eating, sustainable packaging, gut-friendly foods and sugar-free are the most prominent trends businesses are looking to leverage in 2019.

Other trends on the menu include those that promote good gut health (fermented foods), food with good fats (Omega 3) and foods that relieve stress (vitamised juices).

New stronger, bolder and spicy flavours are emerging in snacks and confectionery with the adventurous consumer sector growing.

The value of non-alcoholic beverages is on the rise and the trend of Brits drinking less alcohol continues, all pointing towards a consumer interest in continued health and wellbeing.

Those with an appetite for the latest food & drink trends, will be able to tap into the most up-to-date innovations and insights at IFE 2019 – taking place at ExCeL London 17-20 March. The Cheeky team tickets are booked and we’re looking forward to being there.
