Challenge

Turn Ladbrokes users into football players.

As part of a wider move into entertainment, Ladbrokes partnered with Powerleague to launch the Players Cup – a nationwide five-a-side football tournament with over £100,000 in prizes. 

In partnership with TLC Worldwide, our task was to create a digital platform that made registering, building a team, and joining the competition as easy as finding five mates who think they're the next Messi.

We built the platform. The players turned up.

We designed and developed a custom digital platform that handled everything from registration and team creation to identity verification and tournament management. Integrating player stats, match footage, and post-game content kept teams engaged long after the final whistle.

Results

Ladbrokes were over the moon, Ron.

The year it launched, 480 teams signed up across six locations with 16 making it through to the grand final in Birmingham to play for the £20k grand prize.
